Karen Sierra, DDS
Dr. Sierra’s journey to becoming a dentist was a unique and inspiring path. Raised in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, she discovered her passion for dental health while volunteering at a children’s dental clinic in Inglewood during college. After changing her major to biochemistry, she deferred graduate school to serve as a Community Health Volunteer in the Peace Corps in Paraguay for two years. There, she taught nutrition and dental health in local schools while partnering on larger health initiatives across the country. This experience solidified her love for service and helping others. Applying to dental schools from Paraguay proved challenging without steady internet access, but her perseverance paid off when she was accepted into USC’s prestigious dental program.
Through her past experiences with community outreach and service, Dr. Sierra brings a truly holistic perspective to her dentistry practice.
